HHI Annual Meetings set for Feb. 21-24, 2022

Burlington, NJ – Harness Horsemen International’s Annual Meeting will return after a one year COVID-induced interruption beginning on Monday, Feb. 21 through Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Deerfield Beach, FL.

The meeting agenda includes presentations from the American Horse Council and U.S. Trotting Association Executive V.P. Mike Tanner. There will be two panel presentations, the first: “Fixed Odds Wagering, Sports Betting and Post Time Management,” the panelists are John Hensley director of sports wagering, racing and simulcasting at Bally’s Dover Downs and Gabe Prewitt, director of racing, Caesars Entertainment.

There will be a panel presentation on “The Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Act” by the USTA’s Tanner.  An invitation was extended to supporters of H.I.S.A. who are Standardbred trainers and breeders, but they did not respond.

H.H.I. standing committees will also meet to discuss: Budget, Dues & Finance, Insurance, Legal, Convention, and Foundation.  Additionally, all associations will give an Association report regarding issues in their state.  Elections will also be held to elect officers and at-large directors.

On Thursday, the Awards Luncheon will close the meeting with the following award winners:  H.H.I. Dominic Frinzi Person of the Year: Russell Williams, President of USTA; H.H.I. Appreciation Award: Pennsylvania Representative George Dunbar; Clyde Hirt Media Award: Evan Pattak, Meadows Standardbred Owners Association.
