from the Harness Horse Youth Foundation

Westfield, IN — The Harness Horse Youth Foundation has announced the addition of five one-day educational horsemanship programs to its summer schedule.

The HHYF will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on June 17, and has added four programs in Maine. The June 30, July 1 and July 3 programs will be held at the Cumberland, Maine fairgrounds, while on July 2, a program has been added in Cornish, Maine.

In addition, on July 4, HHYF will visit Scarborough Downs with post parades by Sweet Karen and an opportunity to meet both Sweet Karen and Royal Attire on the tarmac during the late afternoon card.

Applications and compete details for these programs, which typically run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are open to youths age 11 and up, are located at this link.

Workshop fees are $25.

The deadline to apply for these programs, as well as the previously announced HHYF summer program schedule, is May 15.

“Our Maine connections are very much looking forward to HHYF’s return after a few years absence. With several locations now scheduled, we hope that many kids will be able to participate and get excited,” said Executive Director Ellen Taylor. “And with our office located just north of the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis worked in just before our East coast departure. This event, co-sponsored by the Indiana Standardbred Association, will include live fair racing as part of the day’s schedule.”
