HHYF announces Sweet Karen Alumni Scholarship

by Keith Gisser, for the Harness Horse Youth Foundation

Westfield, IN — The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is pleased to announce a new scholarship for students who have previously attended HHYF summer, leadership or HRYL camps, or family weekends since 1999.

The new scholarship honors the HHYF’s 16-year-old Trottingbred media sensation Sweet Karen, who posts to her own Facebook page and has become the equine face of the organization’s stable.

“HHYF is an industry leader in scholarship administration and information,” explained Executive Director Ellen Taylor. “We felt that creating a scholarship specifically for those students who have participated in our summer programs was a logical extension of our educational mission. Anyone who has attended any of our programs the last several years remembers Sweet Karen, so it seemed appropriate to name the scholarship for her.”

Applications for the Sweet Karen Alumni scholarship and other HHYF scholarships are available at this link.

The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing young people and their families educational opportunities with harness horses, in order to foster the next generation of participants and fans.
