Midwest Harness Supply (MHS) has established this new scholarship for students who have relatives involved in the Indiana racing program. Former HHYF graduate Trent Stohler and his friend Joe Putnam are joint sponsors as well as co-owners of MHS, the tack store at both Hoosier Park and Indiana Downs.

Stohler answered candidly when asked about the reason for creating the scholarship.

“There are many horse people and families throughout the Midwest who have supported Joe and I as horsemen and through the tack store. We want to give something back. What better way to help those within our industry than to provide financial assistance to a young person who has dreams of going to college.”
