HHYF seeks stable conditioners for 2017 season

from the Harness Horse Youth Foundation

Westfield, IN — The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is once again seeking a few qualified trainers to condition its stable of Trottingbreds in preparation for the organization’s 2017 summer program schedule.

Volunteer trainers are expected to jog or exercise the horse on a daily basis to build stamina, but no actual training miles are required. Trainer is responsible for all care, feed, hay, bedding, and shoeing. Upon request, gifts-in-kind receipts for services can be issued.

Horses will be delivered on or about April 15 and picked up in June. Each horse comes with its own harness (and hopples if needed).

Now in its fifth decade of service to harness racing, the Harness Horse Youth Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing young people and their families educational opportunities with harness horses, in order to foster the next generation of participants and fans. The Foundation has been making a difference in young people’s lives since 1976, and its programs include interactive learning experiences with these versatile animals, scholarship programs, and creation and distribution of educational materials.
