HHYF Summer travels begin next week

Anderson, IN — The Harness Horse Youth Foundation will conduct a summer educational program at the Red Mile on July 20.

A day filled with harnessing, hitching, guest speakers, a tour of the Stable of Memories and live racing are on the schedule for the first HHYF stop.

Other locations this summer include the Jay County Fairgrounds in Indiana, Bloomsburg and Gratz Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania, and Gaitway Farm in New Jersey.

“HHYF programs provide unique opportunities for young people who love horses and racing,” explained Adam Bowden, HHYF President. “We are happy to offer our summer events but realize that our efforts are only possible with the great financial support from so many as well as our volunteer trainers who make sure the HHYF stable is in top shape to hit the road.”

HHYF 2021 sponsors include Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen’s Association, Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, U.S. Trotting Association, Indiana Standardbred Association, Diamond Creek Farm, the Meadowlands/Vernon Downs/Tioga Downs, Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, U.S. Harness Writers Association, Brittany Farms, Fair Island Farm, Fair Winds Farm, Virginia Harness Horsemen’s Association, Pinske Stables, Southern Oaks Training Center, Standardbred Breeders of Pennsylvania, Preferred Equine Marketing, Cameo Hills Farm, Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association, Virginia Equine Alliance, Standardbred Owners and Breeders of New Jersey, Purple Haze Racing Stable, Jim and Georgia Simpson, and Howard Taylor.

2021 conditioners are Steve Bauder Stable, Marcus Melander Stable, Ryan Miller Stable, Chris Ryder Stable, and Lucas Wallin Stable.
