EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – JK CU Later [$12.00, $3.40, $2.40] extended his winning streak to four, nipping the speedy Devilfish [$2.60, $2.10] on the wire in the first of three $18,000 divisions of the second leg of the Clyde Hirt Series on Friday night at the Meadowlands.

Only a neck separated the two in the first race with a mile timed in 1:51.2.

Michelles Gemstone [$2.80] was third by three lengths.

Last week, Devilfish equaled the track record for four-year-old pacing geldings with a mile in 1:48.3 and made a bid for his third straight win this week, but JK CU Later caught him in the final strides.

Driven by Ron Pierce and trained by Mickey Burke, JK CU Later races for the 3 Brothers Stables of New York, New York.

Hirt contenders also competed in the second and tenth races with the top 10 money-earners in the two weeks of preliminaries advancing to the $85,000 Clyde Hirt Series Final on January 26.

Two $20,000 divisions of the second round Complex Series, races seven and nine, shared the spotlight on Friday night. The $85,000 Complex Final is on January 27.
