Middlebury, IN — Hoosier Classic Sale Company officials have announced their intent to add a new auction venue for the 2017 season.

The auction, created conjointly with Indiana’s existing Hoosier Classic Select Yearling Sale, will be held in the all new Michiana Event Center in Shipshewana, Ind. The date for the inaugural Michiana Classic Yearling Sale is Saturday (Nov. 25).

Citing the upward trend in the number of mares bred to Indiana stallions, company officials have determined a second yearling sale in the state may be viable. According to auction manager Steve Cross, “Indiana breeders have been voicing their concern the past few years about the need for a second site. With the new MEC complex being constructed, we thought now is the time to move ahead. The Hoosier Classic Select Yearling Sale in Indianapolis will remain as the primary Indiana sale and this new venue will follow up with additional opportunities for both breeders and buyers.”

Hoosier Classic Sale Company also conducts the Buckeye Classic Yearling Sale at Springfield, Ohio (Sept. 26) and Hoosier Classic Select Yearling Sale (Oct. 20 and 21).
