Hoosier Park hosts Veterans Day and Fan Appreciation on last weekend of live racing

Anderson, IN — Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will close out the 2016 live harness racing season with a 14-race card on Saturday (Nov. 12) alongside annual Veterans Day and Fan Appreciation specials starting Friday (Nov. 11).

On Friday, service men and women with military identification can enjoy a special Veterans Day lunch buffet for only $5 at Prime Harvest Buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Service men and women are also encouraged to visit Club Centaur Rewards to receive $5 in free slot play as a thank you for their service to our country.

Hoosier Park will also give away patriotic Hoosier Park hats to the first 500 guests starting at 11 a.m. on Friday and again at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Club Centaur Rewards. Plus, guests can enjoy free live music both nights in The Terrace Showroom following live racing. Corey Cox performs on Friday and Danny Frazier performs on Saturday.

In addition to Veterans Day appreciation efforts on the property, Hoosier Park will host veterans on a charter bus trip to downtown Indianapolis for Veterans Day festivities on Friday. The bus will depart from Hoosier Park at 8:30 a.m. for Tyndall Armory for coffee, donuts, live music and a memorial service. Following the service, veterans will be able to attend the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Indianapolis starting at 11:45 a.m. The bus will depart from Indianapolis following the parade with a complimentary box lunch during the trip back to Hoosier Park.

“At Hoosier Park, we want to honor our veterans and show gratitude to those who currently serve and have served in the armed forces,” said Michael Facenda, Hoosier Park’s vice president and general manager of gaming. “Our Veterans Day specials are just a small token of our appreciation and we salute our country’s service men and women for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make on a daily basis.”

On Friday, starting at 4:30 p.m., the first 500 racing fans to visit Trackside Club Centaur will receive a free mystery voucher worth up to $500 as part of the Fan Appreciation Days.

Hoosier Park will also offer the final “Fantastic Friday” of the live racing season where guests can enjoy $1 hot dogs, $1 programs, and $1 beers.

On Saturday, Hoosier Park, in partnership with the Indiana Standardbred Association, will offer racing fans the chance to win a brand new hi-definition television. Racing fans can enter to win at the Indiana Standardbred Association table located near the winner’s circle on Saturday from 5:00-9:00 p.m. First post time for both Friday and Saturday is 5:45 p.m.
