Hoosier Park to host Business Outreach event

Anderson, IN — Hoosier Park at Anderson will host a Business Outreach event on Tuesday, September 18, to explain how business enterprises can become involved in the new slots facility. Details concerning MBE/WBE certification, business readiness and other guidelines will be explained. A community open house for the general public is being planned for early October in conjunction with the official groundbreaking for the new facility.

More details about the community open house will be available soon. The business outreach event begins with a reception at 4:30 p.m. on September 18 in the Hall of Fame Room at Hoosier Park. A formal program will begin at 5:00 p.m. to offer an overview of projects, timelines and guidelines to be included in the construction and development stages of the new slots facility set to open in 2008.

“We are excited to begin the process of development for the new 92,000 square foot facility that will house the slot machines at Hoosier Park,” said Jeffrey Smith, CEO of Centaur Racing, Inc. “Our goal is to include area businesses, and we are committed to doing all we can to include MBE/WBE in this process.”

Hoosier Park at Anderson, Indiana’s first pari-mutuel racetrack, offers Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing and wholecard simulcasting.
