by Charlene Polk, for Horse Lovers United

Salisbury, MD — Horse Lovers United, Inc. (HLU) will host a Spring Festival on Saturday, May 23, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This will be held at the farm the horse adoption organization is leasing at 31244 Doghouse Drive, just off Snow Hill Road, and south of Salisbury, Md.

The main attraction of this festival will be the Grand Opening of HLU’s thrift store, “Nice Threads and More.” There will be bargains for everyone! The store will sell clothes, books, and other odds and ends.

Also on Saturday visitors will have the opportunity to meet all the horses for adoption. Seven needy horses are currently at the farm. They range in age from 5 to 23 years old.

One is rideable and another one, a long-legged chestnut gelding, has been green broke and has the potential for hunter-jumper with the right person to coach him. A third one has been taught some Parelli basics, but will need a veterinary evaluation to determine how far he can go. There are four more looking for somebody to groom and love them for the rest of their lives.

More than 100 equines have been adopted through the organization with many of them going to homes where their main talents to give were love and trust. Your visit to the festival could change a horse’s life and it could change your life for the better.

There will be dozens of great items to bid on in the Silent Auction, including restaurant gift certificates, golfing certificates, artwork, jewelry, and more, just in time to find the perfect gift for a graduate or Father’s Day.

There will be plenty of food, music and entertainment for all ages all day. Most events will take place in the indoor arena.

Heather Moffett, star and producer of the award-winning TV show “Post Time” will MC this event. For more information, please call Lorraine Truitt at (410) 749.3599.
