Hot Rod Mindale will stand in Ohio for 2013 season

Abby Stables press release

Sugarcreek, OH — Hot Rod Mindale will stand this season at Abby Stables in Sugarcreek, Ohio, for $2,000. After three seasons in Indiana, Hot Rod will be moving back to Ohio where he began his stellar career.

He won the Reynolds at Pocono, an elimination of the Messenger, and was 2nd in the Tattersalls. He was also good on a half-mile track winning the Standardbred in Delaware at 2, and finishing 2nd in both the elimination and final of the Little Brown Jug. He was parked-out almost the entire mile from the 7-hole in the first heat and came close to causing a race off with Tell All, losing by only a half-length in the final. He also finished 2nd in the Cleveland Classic.

“With only 6 babies in training, 3 Colts and 3 Fillies, the training reports I’m getting are very, very exciting,” says co-owner Joe Sbrocco. “We are also excited about the future of racing in this great State which at one time had more Standardbreds born than any other State. Hopefully we will make a well-deserved comeback.”

Hot Rod Mindale, p, 2, 1:54.2; 3, 1:51.0f ($337,416), is by Real Artist out of Nani Oakly Mindale by Jate Lobell. “He is a magnificent individual and if you don’t believe it, take a good look at him at Abby Stables in Sugarcreek,” says Sbrocco.
