Mississauga, ON — The Truro Harness Horse Owners Association has released details of its upcoming banquet. The association has also announced that the owner of one of the most recognizable voices in harness racing history will be in attendance.

The event, which is sponsored by RDMD Refrigeration and Dave and Ron MacDonald, will take place Saturday, April 24, at the Truro Horsemen’s Club and will feature Roger Huston, voice of the Meadows and the Little Brown Jug.

Huston will be at the banquet and will serve as guest speaker.

The event will have a social gathering/refreshment period from 6-7 p.m. A roast beef dinner followed by an apple pie desert will then take place from 7-8 p.m. Presentations and awards will follow dinner.

The night will be capped off with dancing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., as the Tim Bowers & Gordon Tucker Band is slated to be entertaining.

The THHOA would love to see as many horsemen and horsewomen attend its annual banquet and give Huston a warm Maritime welcome.

The following day (Sunday, April 25), Huston will also be announcing the races at Truro Raceway.

Regarding the banquet, there will be 200 tickets sold at a price of $20 each. Tickets may be purchased from Truro Raceway (via Diane Daniels), members of the THHOA executive, Tammy MacKay (emmon.mackay@ns.sympatico.ca) or Dixie MacKay at 902-893-8475.
