Ideal News takes Blossom Series opener

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – April 6, 2005 – Ideal News [$6.40, $5.20, $5.60] fired off cover in the stretch and drew off to victory in the $22,500 first round of the three-week Blossom Series for three-year-old pacing fillies, the third race on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.

John Campbell guided the daughter of Western Ideal to a second-over trip, following Cheyenne Adrienne until the top of the stretch.

Ideal News finished a length and a quarter ahead of Righteous Renee [$8.40, $6.20]. It was five and a quarter lengths to I’m All In [$10.20].

Ideal News paced the mile in 1:52.3 for her first victory in seven career starts. The Joe Holloway trainee is owned by her breeder, Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky, and Val D’Or Farms of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.
