Worldly Beauty, one of the premier pacing mares in recent years, gave birth to her first foal, a filly, on Tuesday, April 5 at Perretti Farms in Cream Ridge, New Jersey.

The filly is by Western Ideal.

“She looks like her mom,” said Mike Gulotta, who owns Worldly Beauty in partnership with Craig Lipka. “She’s bay with one white stocking. Both Worldly Beauty and her baby are doing just great.”

Worldly Beauty, a divisional champion at two and three, retired with 21 wins, 10 seconds and three thirds from 45 starts for earnings of $1,900,255 and a mark of 1:49.3. An $87,000 yearling purchase, she went on to become the richest daughter of Artsplace. Among her stakes victories at the Meadowlands were the 2001 Three Diamonds and the 2003 Lady Liberty. She was saluted in retirement ceremonies at the Meadowlands on May 7, 2004.
