FREEHOLD, NJ – – Mark Ford’s Comin Ashore and Matthew Madden’s Cam’s Laughing Boy captured their respective $5,000 divisions of round two of the Stewart Hanover series at Freehold Raceway on Wednesday.

The first division was taken in pacesetting fashion by Comin Ashore with Daniel Dube in the sulky. The eight-year-old Shore Patrol gelding cut fractions of 27.2, 56.2, 1:25.3 en route to a three length, 1:55.3 tally. Mister Dale N (Patrick Berry) got a pocket trip behind the winner and finished second. It was another length and one-half back to Agassi (Marcus Johansson) in third.

Comin Ashore notched his third win in 13 starts this year in winning his division of the Stewart Hanover. The Ford trainee returned $2.60 as the odds-on favorite.

Division two saw Cam’s Laughing Boy record a wire-to-wire victory behind the handling of Jim Pantaleano. The eight-year-old gelded son of Die Laughing led through splits of 28.2, 58.1, 1:27.3 before stopping the timer in 1:57.4. Suffolk (Patrick Berry) sat a two-hole journey and finished one and one-half lengths back in second. A late-arriving Hana Highway (Stephen Smith) nailed down the show spot, one and three-quarters lengths behind the winner.

The victory was the seventh in 11 outings this season for Cam’s Laughing Boy. The Chris Marino conditioned gelding paid $2.20 to win as the overwhelming choice in the wagering.
