Springfield, IL — The Illini Classic Yearling Sale, held Monday (September 5) at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, averaged $5,305 per yearling with 120 selling for $636,300, an increase of 44.5 percent from the previous year.
Top selling colt was head number 97, Dune Did It, at $30,000, selling to Tannor Spittler of Paris, Ill.
The top selling filly was head number 60, Dolly Dune, selling for $19,000 to Perry Smith of Crete, Ill., agent for Sawgrass Farms, LLC.
Both were from the first crop by Duneside Perch and both were consigned by Fair Meadow Farm of Altamont, Ill.
