Illinois Racing Board Investigates Ledford

The Illinois Racing Board has confirmed that they are conducting an investigation in to the Seldon Ledford Stable, according to a story in today’s Newark (NJ) Star Ledger.

The probe follows arrests by New Jersey State Police on March 31of Ledford Stable employees Ryan and Ardena Dailey and Ledford’s son, Eric Ledford. A veterinarian, Dr. John Witmer, was also arrested. Charges involve illegal possession of drugs, specifically aranesp, and others. The Illinois Board has also suspended horses in the Ledford Stable from racing.

“There’s a full investigation,” Racing Board spokesman Mickey Ezzo told the Ledger. “I can’t comment on the scope of the investigation.”
