Calliope Hanover seized the point with a backside burst and opened a seemingly safe lead. But when Imelda Hanover, who had been gaining ground steadily for Dan Charlino after getting away seventh, saw Calliope Hanover weakening, she pounced on the opportunity and defeated Calliope Hanover by a half-length in 1:52.4. Bettorbytheseaside completed the ticket.

Ron Burke trains Imelda Hanover, a 3-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou-Ideal Newton, for Burke Racing Stable, J&T Silva Stables, Larry Karr and Phillip Collura.

Dave Palone and Mike Wilder each piloted three winners on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday, first post 5:10 p.m.
