Columbus, OH — The next meeting of the Ohio State Racing Commission will be held on Thursday (Aug. 22). The meeting will take place in Room South A on the 31st floor of the Riffe Center in Columbus. It will begin at 10 a.m.

The commission will take a look at the disbursement of taxes paid on casino gambling that accrued to the commission during the second quarter of 2013.

Permit holders in the process of constructing new racing facilities will be asked to provide updates related to progress made. Four new racetracks are being built.

While River Downs will remain at its current site in Cincinnati, Beulah Park, Lebanon Raceway and Raceway Park are being moved to new locations.

The commission will review requests for 2014 racing dates submitted by the state’s seven permit holders. The Ohio Revised Code requires commercial racetracks to submit permit applications and date requests for the following year by Aug. 15.
