Important reminders for horsemen from Delaware County Fair

Delaware, OH — The Delaware County Fair and the Little Brown Jug would like to remind horsemen of a couple of important items.

Jug and Jugette Entries: The Jugette and Little Brown Jug use a five-day box. Entries for the Jugette are due by 10 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 15) and entries for the 72nd edition of the Little Brown Jug presented by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association are due by 10 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 16).

Jug Race-Off: Last year, the Little Brown Jug Society voted to eliminate the third heat (race-off). The winner of the second heat will be declared the LBJ champion.

Jug and Jugette Eliminations: These events will split into eliminations with 10 or more entries. Should ten horses enter, two five horse eliminations will be held and the top eight will move on to the Jug final.

Detention Barn: All Jugette and Jug entries need to be stabled in the required barns two days prior to the event. Jugette horses on Monday (Sept. 18) at 11 a.m. Jug horses on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at 11 a.m.

Standardbred 2-Year-Old Paces: The Standardbred events for 2-year-old colt and filly pacers will be held on Sunday (Sept. 17). The deadline to enter is 10 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 14).

Entries: Horsemen are urged to enter all Delaware County Fair events via the United States Trotting Associations Online Entry. Entries can also be made by calling 740.363.6000.
