Invitational trots to be scheduled on Pocono ‘Super Nights’

from the PHHA/Pocono

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Rick Kane, Director of Racing at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, is planning two rich Invitational trots for the track’s two signature nights of racing in 2015.

The $75,000 Sun Invitational Trot will be held on Saturday (July 4) in conjunction with the Ben Franklin final, the Earl Beal final, the Max Hempt final, and the Jim Lynch final.

A $100,000 Invitational is being set for Saturday (Aug. 22), a night which will find the track hosting the Colonial, the Battle of the Brandywine and the Valley Forge, along with their various consolation events.

The red clay Pocono track surface is world-renown, and especially for trotters: nine of the 11 fastest trotting miles ever on a five-eighths-mile track have come at Pocono, headed by the 1:49 effort by Sebastian K last summer that stamped him the world’s fastest trotter.

Interested parties should contact Rick Kane at 570.831.2128.
