Irvan Clayton, 75, dies

Columbus, OH — Irvan Edward Clayton, 75, of Johnstown, Ohio, died Dec. 28, 2012.

Mr. Clayton was born June 7, 1937, in Croton, Ohio, to the late Dave and Nellie (Hubbard) Clayton. He served in the United States Army.

He owned and raced Standardbreds and retired from the Croton Egg Farm after many years of dedicated service.

Mr. Clayton was a member of the Sunbury Eagles, Utica American Legion, the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and the USTA.

He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Edna Butt; children, Dennis (Julie), Davey (Jeannie) and Dennise (Larry) Faulk.

The family will receive friends on Thursday (Jan. 3) from 5 to 8 pm. An online memorial can be located at www.cksammons.com. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday (Jan. 4) at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, Ohio, with interment to follow at Hartford Cemetery, in Croton, Ohio.
