Italian trotter Vernisage Grif wins Gran Premio Lotteria

Vernissage Grif with Alessandro Gocciadoro won the prestigious Gran Premio Lotteria in Naples on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 2)in a new race record 1.52.4f.

The 8-year-old Vernissage Grif is a tough trotter, who now has won three heat races within the last two months.
In August he won the Gran Premio di Citta Montecatini – in September Campionato Europeo – and now the Grand Premio Lotteria.

Vernissage Grif advanced to the final after finishing second to Bleff Dipa with Roberto Vecchione, who won the elimination in 1.54f.

Zacon Gio with Roberto Vecchione in 1.53.3f and Vivid Wise As with Matthieu Abrivard in 1.54.1f were the winners of the two other eliminations.

The final Vivid Wise As was in command most of the trip, while Vernissage Grif enjoyed a nice trip behind Bleff Dipa, who was parked outside Vivid Wise As.

Going down the stretch, Vernissage Grif finished strong to win in a new race and track record of 1.52.4f followed by Vivid Wise As and Zacon Gio.

Zacon Gio, who next will race in the International Trot at Yonkers, enjoyed a pocket trip behind Vivid Wise As, but never found racing room down the stretch.

The purse for the winner was 253.300 Euro.
