Dover, DE — Itsrockandroll A ($5.60) chased down Goldberg to just prevail in the featured $22,000 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace on Thursday night (Nov. 19) at Dover Downs.

Goldberg, who was assigned the outside post in the field of seven, left alertly to clear Robbie Burns N and control fractions of :26.4 and :56.2. Up the backstretch, Shadow Cat was in attack mode first-up with Itsrockandroll A shadowing cover second-over. A Goldberg continued on the lead to three-quarters in 1:23.2, Shadow Cat started to weaken and Itsrockandroll A fanned three-wide into the stretch.

Itsrockandroll A and driver Corey Callahan powered alongside Goldberg in deep stretch and won by a neck in 1:51.1 as the 9-5 favorite. Goldberg (Montrell Teague) fought hard but finished second, and Robbie Burns N (Andy McCarthy) was third from the pocket.

Trainer Dylan Davis co-owns Itsrockandroll A, a 5-year-old A Rocknroll Dance gelding, with Michael Casalino Jr.

The $325,000 Progress Pace will be contested next Wednesday (Nov. 25), as will two $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund finals.
