J-S Miss Carly grinds out Meadows win

Washington, PA — J-S Miss Carly gained persistently first over, wore down the leader in mid-stretch and captured Thursday’s (May 27) feature at The Meadows, a $9,800 conditioned trot.

J-S Miss Carly was fourth down the backside when Jim Pantaleano sent her after the leader, Killer Instinct. The 4-year-old daughter of Guccio and Ciao Bela took her time reaching the point but finally inched away late to score in 1:56.1. Mj’slibertyvalance shot the Lightning Lane for second, while My Cousin Eileen rallied for show.

Sarah Andrews trains the winner, who triumphed for the 15th time in 27 career starts, and owns with Valerie Sutton, Joseph Hemingway and Sandbur Farms.

Aaron Merriman and Dave Palone each fashioned a four-bagger on the 13-race card while Dan Rawlings and trainer Ray Romanetti teamed for three wins.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (May 28), when the 13-race program features a $2,971.86 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
