Elysium Lindy and Home’n Dry left quickly for early position, with Elysium Lindy forcing Home’n Dry into the pocket through a rapid :26.1 quarter. Jack Vernon, the 4-5 favorite, lingered on the outside while the speed settled before making his move into a backed down :55.3 half. Jack Vernon and driver Tim Tetrick pressured Elysium Lindy to three-quarters in 1:23.1, while Home’n Dry vacated the pocket in anticipation of a second-over trip behind Jack Vernon carrying him into the stretch.

With Home’n Dry breaking behind him at the top of the stretch, Jack Vernon disposed of a tiring Elysium Lindy and trotted clear to win by a length over Bluebird Jesse, who closed to be second. Faithfulandtrue rallied for the show spot.
