Columbus, OH — Jackie Richard, 67, died Feb. 3, 2011, while vacationing in Mexico.

Mr. Richard was born in Muncie, Ind., on May 23, 1943. He owned Standardbreds for more than 36 years, racing at fairs and pari-mutuel tracks in many states. Among the many horses he owned were Mark The Distance and Universal Star.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; sons, Brent (Misty) Perry and Justin (fiancée Nicole Hamilton); and granddaughters, McKenna Perry and Mara Perry.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
