Jacks To Open tops Tattersalls Summer Mixed Sale

Columbus, OH — Hambletonian eligible trotter Jacks To Open (Conway Hall-Jodi’s Jayme) was the sales topper at the Tattersalls Summer Mixed Sale on Sunday (July 28) at the Meadowlands.
He brought a winning bid of $122,000 from trainer Nicholas Surick, who purchased the 3-year-old gelding for owner Howard Schneidler.
Jack’s To Open has banked $118,452 in his career with five wins in 22 starts. He was seventh placed eighth this past Saturday in a $25,000 Hambletonian prep race at Meadowlands Racetrack.
This year’s sale saw 169 horses go under the hammer, up from 163 in 2012. The gross was $2,441,200 (up from $2,284,800) for an average of $15,353. That bested the 2012 average of $14,017.
