Campbellville, ON — Driver Jody Jamieson may have captured his Pepsi North America Cup elimination last Saturday with Up The Credit, but WEG’s leading driver says there is no standout in the field for the C$1.5 million final set for Saturday (June 18) at Mohawk.

Up The Credit has banked $175,695 in his career.

Jamieson drives Up The Credit for his father, Carl, who trains the brown son of Western Terror. After his colt’s off-the-pace victory in a 1:50.4 effort, Jody says he still has to watch out for the one’s who didn’t win their elims.

“It’s wide open, but I think I might have the best horse, it’s just he needs the best trip,” he said. “Big Bad John was impressive. I don’t think we can count out Big Jim or Shadyshark Hanover. There was a bunch of horses that were beat in their eliminations that I don’t think you can count out.”

Jamison admits he might have to change up his driving strategy for Up The Credit when he leaves from post two for the richest event for 3-year-old pacers.

“You have to be weary about (the competition) now and drive accordingly,” Jamieson said. “If Big Jim gets back to form, I think he’d be very tough especially if he follows me or I follow him.”

Up The Credit will go into the rich final with a lifetime record of 6-2-0 in 10 starts with career earnings of $175,695 for owners Carl Jamieson, Thomas Kyron, Brian Paquet and Joanne Morrison.

Jamieson spoke with WEG’s media department. To watch the interview visit www.NorthAmericaCup.com.
