Jamieson on Up The Credit; reflects on WDC

Campbellville, ON — Jody Jamieson has captured the Confederation Cup in the past, but it would mean more to the Moffat, Ontario, resident when he teams up with his father Carl’s Up The Credit on Sunday (August 14) and tries to take the lion’s share of the C$672,000 rich purse at Flamboro Downs.

Jamieson captured the ‘Cup’ with Laughing Art in 2007. This year, Up The Credit will highlight the group after capturing the C$1.5 million North America Cup earlier this year at Mohawk.

“Yeah, absolutely (there is added pressure),” Jamieson said. “We talk about the North America Cup and how it was the hometown track for my father and I to win, but (Flamboro) is the track that my dad and I moved to in ‘86 when he first moved up here, so Flamboro was the track that got us going.”

Up The Credit, a son of Western Terror, has $999,620 in purse earnings for Carl, along with Joanne Morrison, Brian Paquet and Thomas Kyron.

On August 5, Jamieson was crowned the winner of the World Driving Championship at Yonkers Raceway in New York. This is his second title, after winning in Sweden and Finland in 2001. He will defend his title in 2013 in France.

On Tuesday, Jamieson spoke to WEG’s media department about his chances with Up The Credit and his reflection on his recent victory in the World Driving Championship.
