Columbus, OH — Jeffery Welling, age 62 passed away November 11, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeffie, as he is better known by, was a jokester, a comedian, a true sports fan, and a lover of horses.  More specifically Cloverleaf Jeff, No Risk, and Unix Hanover.

Jeff was introduced into Harness racing by his two Uncles George and Tom Martin, of Germantown, Ohio.  He began working their horses at Latonia Raceway in Florence, Ky at the age of 16,  Once he began he never stopped.

A graduate of The Ohio State University in 1979, Jeff graduated and dedicated his life to doing what he loved horse racing.

After moving to Northfield, Ohio he began working at Big Dee’s and continued there until the time of his decline. Jeffie will be remembered for his big smile, his infectious laugh, and his kind, caring heart.
