Jeffery Davis, 61, dies

Columbus, OH — Jeffery Davis, 61, of Van Wert, Ohio, died June 25, 2018, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.

He was born March 10, 1957, in Bryan, Ohio, to his late parents, Richard Davis and Harriet (Lamb) Straley.

Mr. Davis was a third generation harness horseman. He owned a few horses with his dad, but was a horseshoer in Northwest Ohio for 35 years. He shared in the successes of some great horses and horsemen of the area.

He married the love of his life, Shawnne Riesen, in 1989. An outdoorsman, he was often hiking, boating, and spending time at their cottage on the Auglaize River. He never knew a stranger and loved to cook and entertain. He and Shawnne also enjoyed traveling together.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Shawnne Riesen Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Brian Clark and Sue and Barry McDowell; mother-in-law, Sue Koehler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Todd Vance, Tara Riesen and Neal Beckman, and Tracy and Rick Fravel; nieces and nephews, Garret McDowell, Codi Feasby, Cody Feasby, Eric Fravel, Rachael Fravel, Danielle Fravel, Joel Fravel, Lanette Fravel, Mandy Clark and Matt Clark; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Cali Feasby, Chase Feasby, Cameron Fravel, Wesley Fravel and Rory Fravel.
