Jet Blue Miracle victorious in Open Pace at Rosecroft Raceway

by Pete Medhurst, for Rosecroft Raceway

Ft. Washington, MD — Sean Bier guided Jet Blue Miracle to victory in the $12,000 Open Tuesday (May 17) night at Rosecroft Raceway.

On a track labeled sloppy, Jet Blue Miracle sat fifth through the first half as Cabbie’s Delight (Jason Thompson) went first-over against the pace setting Thiswayorthehighway (Timmy Offut). As they turned for home Bier ducked the 6-year-old son of Jereme’s Jet to the passing lane and kicked home in 27.2 to edge out Thiswayorthehighway and Cruising West (Roger Plante Jr) in 1:52.3. The 9-5 exacta returned $621.

Bier won the very next race with his home bred Brody, stopping the teletimer in 1:53, giving trainer Joe Columbo a training double. Joe Offut had two training wins while driver Timmy Offut had a pair of pictures taken as did Pat Berry.

Rosecroft will conduct a special Saturday racing card starting at 7 p.m. following the Preakness Stakes.
