Trained and driven by Bret Brittingham for owner George Brem, Jett Away won for the fourth time this meet, looping battling leaders Armbro View (Jim Morand) and Crossfire N (Kevin Sizer) heading to the final turn. After getting the lead entering the stretch, she lived up to her name, jetting away to victory. The 1:514 lowered the former 1:524 track record for age, gender and gait first set by Fancy Creek Funny (Luc Ouellette) in 2000 and equaled in 2002 by Long Island Lolita (Steve Warrington). Rain Dance Kim, last season’s Horse of the Meet, closed for Travis Bowman to finish second. Nuclear Power, who started from post eight with Jim King, closed for third honors.

Angela Gold N, owned by Dom Rafanelli, Margaret Mancini and Tom Kelly, enjoyed a perfect trip racing second behind Kadijah (Steve Warrington), who cut out all the early fractions. Frank Milby then sped along the passing lane to overtake the leader approaching the finish line in a 1:54 mile to win the $18,000 Mares Winners Over Pace.

Milby also won earlier driving Tom Conley and Candy Milby’s Star Struck Lover home in 1:541 to win a $9,000 mares pace.

Mitch and Pearl Fisher’s homebred Miss Fish Lady was at her best in a $13,500 Delaware Pace, overpowering eight foes for a 1:533 conquest. Art Stafford, Jr. piloted the Northern Luck four-year-old mare to her second win in four starts this year. Circum Navigator (Eddie Dennis) and Lilianna Beauty (Eddie Davis) were second and third respectively.

In a $12,500 mares pace, another former Horse of the Meet, Roses Best, the 2001-2002 winner, returned from broodmare ranks to win her third in a row. Owner, trainer, and driver Toby Lynch made his winning move at the three-quarters to get the lead and then drew away for a 1:531 score. Scissor Magic (Hal Belote) came in second. Chocolate Square (Bret Brittingham) was third.

R Little Am Lo won the $12,000 featured trot. Travis Bowman drove the nine-year-old altered son of American Winner to a 1:57 victory for owners Ken Wood and Howard Perlmutter. Tug River Earl (Hal Belote) closed to within a neck of the winner with Red Oak’s Casper (Art Stafford, Jr.) third.

John Sixt and Judith Blaun’s Hugs Fanci opened up a big lead at the three-quarters and waltzed to a 1:53 victory in a $10,000 mares pace. Love That Hall, a 27-1 shot, edged How About Gal (Clifton Green) for second.

Only two days of live racing remain this season. Closing day is Thursday, April 22. Post time is 4:30 p.m. There is no charge for parking or admission. Reservations are suggested for the Winner’s Circle Restaurant, call (302) 674-4600.
