Joe McDude equals career best in Meadows co-feature

Washington, PA — Joe McDude had to duel for the early lead, but was unchallenged once reaching the point as he captured Saturday’s (June 19) co-feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 claiming handicap pace.

After yielding to the pocket, Winning Is Sweet stalked Joe McDude for the rest of the mile but had to settle for second, 1-3/4 lengths back. America’s Guest rallied for show. Joe McDude triumphed for Ronnie Wrenn Jr. in 1:51.2, matching his career best.

Ron Burke trains the Big Jim-Mattercycle gelding, who lifted his career bankroll to $120,353, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

In Saturday’s other co-feature, also a $10,800 claiming handicap pace, Dream Of Luck moved relentlessly first-over to prevail in 1:52.2 for Mike Wilder, trainer Mark Goldberg and owner Rags To Reaches Of PA. The 7-year-old Camluck-Dream Of Mimi gelding now boasts career earnings of $296,228. Sweet Beach and Jins Shark rounded out the ticket.

Burke collected four wins on the 13-race card while Dave Palone and Wrenn each fashioned a three-bagger.
