Joe Pennacchio wins NAADA Trot at Monticello with Prescott

Monticello, NY — When the wings of the gate folded, Joe Pennacchio bided his time with Prescott and then rallied the son of Yankee Glide to an easy 1:59.1 victory over four others in the $7,000 NAADA trot Wednesday (Oct. 6) at Monticello Raceway.

After the starter turned the field loose, Andy Byler sent Living Proof I Am toward the front, but they didn’t take command until Matt Zuccarello grabbed leather and his All Night Credit yielded the lead as they passed the first stanza in :29.1.

“I had the two-hole and I got away fourth, so I came first over at the half and I made the front going down the backstretch,” Pennacchio said. “The rest, as they say, is history.”

Once on top, Prescott drew off to a five length lead which was shortened to 3-1/4 lengths at the wire. All Night Credit finished second and Living Proof I Am garnered the show dough.

Prescott, a 5-year-old altered son of Yankee Glide, is owned by Joe P Racing and trained by Cory Stratton. He paid $2.70 to win.
