In Sweden the Breeders Crown is a series raced with several eliminations, semifinals and the finals for 3- and 4-year-old trotters. In December a final for 2-year-old trotters will be raced.

Untersteiner raced in three of the four Breeders Crown races and won each of his drives. He trains two of the winners, the 4-year-old mare Restricted (sired by Muscles Yankee) and the 4-year-old horse Cyber Lane (sired by Raja Mirchi), while he was catch-driving Danish-owned and trained 3-year-old filly trotter Candy la Marc (sired by Scarlet Knight).

Untersteiner has now won five Breeders Crown races; the first one in 2007.

The Breeders Crown for 3-year-old colts was won by Lucifer Lane (sired by Infinitif) and driven by amateur driver Johan A. Nilsson.

The purse for the winner in each of the Breeders Crown finals was $95,000.

In the Netherlands the Prijs der Giganten was won by Norwegian trotter BBS Sugarlight, driven by Vidar Hop, who just nosed out Anna Mix with Franck Nivard for the win. But in fact, Italian trotter Ringostarr Treb, driven by Wim Paal, was first past the post, several lengths ahead of BBS Sugarlight and Anna Mix. However, around the bend Ringostarr Treb was found to have trotted inside the pylons and therefore was disqualified and placed last.

The win purse was $35,000.
