John “Jack” Fay, 95, dies

Columbus, OH — John Francis “Jack” Fay, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather from LeRoy, N.Y., passed away on March 20, 2022, at the age of 95.

He was born March 11, 1927, to the late John and Eva Brown Fay.

Mr. Fay was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. His career was spent working for what is now the New York State Gaming Commission, serving as the presiding judge at Buffalo Raceway and Batavia Downs for many years. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, as well as a member of the Oatka Fish and Game Club and the American Legion.

Mr. Fay is predeceased by his wife, Jean Fay; and his grandson, Michael Paladino.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Fay (Ron Almeter), Nancy Elmore (David), Jacalyn Whiting (Reid), Mary Jo Fay and Carol DiFrancisco; stepsons Thomas Piccioli, Johnny Piccioli (Debbie), Steven Piccioli (Lu); his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his dear friend, Eileen Tomidy.
