John Robson

He was one of the greats who traveled the Grand Circuit from Vernon to The Red Mile, setting up his shop at each track.

Mr. Robson was the one that made the shoes for some of the best horses in the sport. His shop with the awning was the place where you could go to sit with people like Glen Garnsey, Billy Haughton, Dick Baker or Howard Beisinger and watch a horse like Colonial Charm get her shoes put on and listen to the stories of the horses and the races.

His shop was also the place for music and a cold drink and cookouts at Du Quoin.

He not only took care of the horses, but he took care of the people of the Grand Circuit as well.

Mr. Robson will be sadly missed but his wit and wisdom will be fondly remembered.
