by Dean A. Hoffman, for Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Johnny’s Wrecker and driver Kyle Ater wrecked the chances of their rivals on Wednedsday night (June 18) at Scioto Downs as they coasted to a 1:56.1 wire-to-wire win.

The 7-year-old gelding was sent off at 4-5 odds by the public and performed up to expectations as he easily held off Met and Chief Connection in the race for stallions and geldings.

Johnny’s Wrecker is owned by Brian Tatham and is trained by Karen Siefert. He is a son of Village Connection.

There were several impressive sophomore winners on the Wednesday card at Scioto, headed by the Real Artist gelding Stretch Artist in 1:57.2. Other 3-year-old winners included the pacers Classy Sarah (Full Of Fun) in 1:57.4 and Komoda’s Fantasy (Island Fantasy) in 1:58.2, and the trotter Victoryatlass (Victory Sam) in 2:02.
