Joseph Lynch, 64, dies

Columbus, OH — Joseph Lynch, 64, a longtime Saratoga Raceway publicist and more recently chief of racing operations for the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, has died.

Born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Mr. Lynch lived in Ballston Spa and was a veteran of many years in the pari-mutuel wagering industry. He also worked as an operations analyst during his career with the racing board.

From December 1996 to December 1997, he was an on-air announcer for Capital District Regional Off Track Betting Corp.’s cable television and radio programs. Before that, he was Saratoga Raceway’s publicist from 1969 to 1983.

Mr. Lynch was a 1969 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, N.J.
