Josh Sutton gets six wins on Scioto Saturday card

from Scioto Downs Racino

Columbus, OH — Driver Josh Sutton was on a roll on Saturday night at Scioto Downs. He racked up six wins, including the $20,000 feature Open Pace in a record-setting performance with Beach Memories in 1.49.4.

It all started in race 3 with Luv Struck for trainer Karen Tkaczyk. He continued in race 9 with Santa Fe Beachboy and returned again in race 10 with Hunchie for trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. Then in race 12, Sutton scored with Little Man Joe from post 9 for trainer Tyler Nostadt. Sutton then took the Saturday finale with Ak’s Livin Large for trainer Zach Tackett in a season’s best effort of 1.53.2.

This all coming after a rare accident on the Wednesday night card at Scioto Downs.

Sutton was driving Fashion Fun in the second race when he threw a shoe that ricocheted off the race track and came back and hit him in the face. He pulled the trotter up and did not finish the race and didn’t drive for the rest of the card. Sutton was taken to Ohio State where he received 17 stitches.

He was off his drives on Thursday, but was back in the action on Friday at Scioto Downs.
