Judge Bob wins again at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Over the past two years, Judge Bob has been as good a trotter at Rosecroft as you can find.

Ten of his 14 wins have come at the Fort Washington oval, and after going gate-to-wire in Wednesday night’s (Oct. 6) $11,000 Open Handicap from post eight, the son of Great George Two has more than $125,000 in earnings in 30 starts since January of last year.

It was the first of four wins for Jonathan Roberts on the night, who handled the gelding flawlessly through fractions of :28, :58.1, 1:26.3 and finishing in a time of 1:55.2. Rose Run Vincent was second and 3-year old Maryland Sires Stakes champion Funnyfunnyriddle acquitted himself well, finishing third in the step up in class. For trainer Megan Roberts it was the first of two wins on the night.

In the $11,000 Mares Open Handicap, Auntmilly’smartni scorched the stone dust, leaving from post eight and holding off Talk Show Chica and Shady Madam to win in 1:54.4 for owner-trainer Brittany Bounds. It was the ninth win in 31 starts in 2021 for the 6-year-old daughter of Three Olives and extended her win streak to three, having won her last two starts at Ocean Downs coming in.

Trainer Michael Hall had a double on the night as Roberts guided Gotafoolishdesire and Waterboard to victories.

Rosecroft resumes live racing Sunday night at 7:15 p.m.
