Delaware, OH — The first race in this year’s Little Brown Jug Fantasy Stable Contest is Saturday’s Hoosier Cup Final at Hoosier Park.

You must create your own stable of 10 Jug eligible 3-year-old pacers by 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30. Just go to www.jugbarn.com to sign up. Remember, you also must activate five horses from your 10-horse stable for each contest. The deadline for the first contest is 10 a.m. Saturday.

Here is some late news that may help you create your stable or to choose which five horses you select for “active” status in the Hoosier Cup. You will collect points only if your horses are among the top five finishers.

Two preseason Jug favorites, Dan Patch 2-Year-Old champion Major In Art and Nebupanezzar, last year’s O’Brien Award winner as Canada’s top freshman colt pacer, suffered injuries which will keep them sidelined for much of the summer season.

In brighter news, Johnny Z and Rusty’s All In finished one-two in Saturday’s $300,140 Max Hempt Memorial Final at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Johnny Z, Sheer Desire and Mr Wiggles, all Jug eligibles, had won eliminations for the Hempt.

Jug eligibles Ideal Danny and Dial Or Nodial finished one-two in Saturday’s $61,400 first division of the New Jersey Sires Stakes at The Meadowlands.
