Just A Jolt breaks own track record

Harrington, DE — John Dayton’s Just A Jolt ($6, Victor Kirby) reset his own track record for 4-year-old pacing geldings on Monday (June 30) with a 1:50 triumph in the $17,000 Open Pace at Harrington Raceway.

Just A Jolt reset his own track record for 4-year-old pacing geldings on Monday with a 1:50 triumph.

It also established a new national season’s mark for 4-year-old pacers on a half-mile racetrack.

Sent for the lead from post position seven, the Village Jolt gelding made the lead in :26.3, before cruising to the half-mile in :55 and three-quarters in 1:22.3.

Just A Jolt kept pocket-sitting Getitoffyourchest at bay for a one length score. Rock On Moe was third. It was the 11th win of the year for Just A Jolt, who padded his seasonal earnings to more than $124,000.

Driver Jon Roberts had three wins on the program. George Dennis, Allan Davis and Ross Wolfenden each had a double.
