Kadabra has a baby sister

The 13-year-old trotting mare Quillo, dam of Kadabra 4, 1:51.3 ($1,806,799),recently delivered her first female foal, a filly by International Chip. Her first four foals have earned an average of $672,569.

Filly by International Chip out of Quillo. Born on March 28, 2006 and owned by Connie Hochstetler.

Quillo is owned by Connie Hochstetler of Crete, Illinois. Her husband Homer developed Kadabra and raced him as a 2-year-old in 2001 before he was sold to a syndicate. Kadabra raced to honors as Trotter of the Year as a 3-year-old in 2002 for trainer Jimmy Takter and driver David Miller. That season he won 11 of 14 starts and was second twice.

Quillo’s first foal was Money Minded by Wall Street Banker. He trotted to a 1:57f mark as a 5-year-old and has earned $143,053.

Her second foal was Lifes A Holiday by Primrose Lane. He sports a 1:54 mark as a 5-year-old and current earnings of $707,580.

Both Money Minded and Lifes A Holiday are racing in 2006.

Her third foal was Kadabra, now a stallion in Ontario. His first crop of 106 foals will go to the yearling sales this fall.

Quillo’s next foal by Primrose Lane was Thunder Road 3, 1:54.3 ($32,865).

She was bred to Conway Hall in 2003 and 2004 without producing a live foal, but caught to the cover of International Chip last year.
