Karen Blair is among New England recognition award winners

Marlborough, MA — Six weeks from now Karen Blair will be among those receiving awards at the New England Harness Writers awards dinner.

Blair is the publisher of the monthly newspaper Horse Talk, a task she has been performing since 2000. Its goal is dedicated to reporting and promoting the horse industry that exists in the Middleborough, Mass., area. She will be among nine recipients of the chapter’s recognition awards. She is also a member of the New England Harness Writers chapter.

Others receiving recognition awards at the writers awards dinner are Francis Azur, Mark Eaton, Mario Martello Sr., Greg Browser, Michael M. McLaughlin Esq., Paul Magan and harness racing’s global horsemen’s web networks, ustrotting.com and New Zealand based harnesslink.

Jim Winske of Marlborough, an owner, driver and trainer for 30 years who still owns harness horses, will be the 71st person to receive the chapter’s highest honor, induction into its Hall of Fame, which dates back to 1962.

For the second year in a row, Mike Tanner, CEO and Executive Vice-President of the United States Trotting Asssociation, based in Columbus, Ohio, will be the principle speaker.
