Karen Taft, trainer and SOA of NY employee, needs our support

Yonkers, NY — Karen Taft of Monroe Township, N.J., was awakened Monday (July 19) around 2 a.m. with her house fully engulfed in flames.

She had no choice but to exit her second floor bedroom window.

She was transferred to St. Barnabas Medical Center’s Burn Center in Livingston, N.J., with third degree burns to her arms, hands and shoulders. She is expected to remain there for 10–14 days.

Karen started working with Standardbred horses in 1987 and became a trainer in 2013 and continues to train. Karen started working with the Standardbred Owners Association of New York in Yonkers, N.Y., in 2017.
