Kenneth Polk, 22, dies

Columbus, OH — Kenneth Polk, 22, the son of Standardbred trainer and USTA ID Technician Pamela Polk, died September 11, 2011, as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Mr. Polk was a 2007 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School where he was a member of the football and track teams. He then attended McDaniel College in Westminster, Md., where he studied biology, played football and ran track. He spent a semester abroad studying and enjoying the beauty of New Zealand in 2010 before graduating from McDaniel College in the spring of 2011.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Charlene (Chris) Sharpe; grandmother, Wynn Powers; and aunts and uncles, Lynn (Kevin) Finn, Jack (Theresa) Powers, Ted (Linda) Polk and Phil (Rose) Polk. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; and grandparents, Ted and Anne Polk and John Jackson Powers.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday (September 14) at 5 p.m. at Christ Church of Oyster Bay, 61 East Main St., Oyster Bay, NY.
